ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR OVERVIEW

In continuing your leadership with the PADI Assistant Instructor course, this program will enhance your understanding of the learning and instruction of the PADI system. It consists of two modules: knowledge and water skills development & application all necessary for your future role as an Assistant Instructor and for your next Phuket IDC in Thailand.

To enroll in this course: to be at least 18 years old and have all the following prerequisites. A Divemaster certificate (or equivalent), have completed the course Emergency First Response (or other sanctioned CPR course) within the last past two years, logged a minimum of 60 dives and a Medical approval signed by a physician (PADI medical form). You'll earn the PADI Assistant Instructor certification after successfully completed a program of 5 days according to your abilities and the time that you want to invest for the development of your future career as Instructor.

All the other required material will be avaible for you before and during the course. (If you don't have time to purchase the material mentioned just above, please make sure you get it with me few days before the course starts since you will have to do some pre-studies).

PROGRAM

The candidates having successfully completed this program will be able to send there Assistant Instructor application to PADI. For the people wishing to continue with an (OWSI) IDC program in Thailand and who didn’t record the required 100 dives for the Phuket IE, as well for the others, I recommend you to follow some specialty dives and few courses so you can get more familiar with other activities and dive sites here in Thailand.

ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR INTERNSHIP

The candidates taking the internship here in Phuket will have more advantages to assist and follow more PADI courses. At least: 1 Open Water Diver course, 1 Continuing Education course (Advanced Open Water or Rescue), 1 Specialty course (peak performance buoyancy), and assist in the PADI Seal Team and Discover Scuba Diving programs. The number of days for the internship isn’t fixed and should be discussed together.
The internship isn’t required for certification but I strongly recommend it, since most of the candidates wish to do an IDC.
